Is investing the money for credit repair wothwhile? Are the results satisfactory from an accredited repair service company? I am looking for first hand experience and reference from someone who has used an online credit repair service.

I have been to "many" different credit repair sites on the web. Some were pretty good and some were pretty bad. I refuse to use a website<!–that requires a fee to get their credit repair info when there is great free sites on the web.. I’m listing the best site that I’ve ever been to.

http://badcredits.awardspace.com/repaircredit.htm

It is a "free" do it yourself credit repair site. I have learned so much by reading and asking questions on that site. And, I have seen "significant" improvement on my credit reports after learning–>my rights and using them.Don’t pay for information that you can find for free.

I’d like to know of anyone who has actually used Lexington Law credit repair and of their experience. I’ve gotten mixed reviews on the company, so I’d like to hear from some actual users. Was it successful? How long did it take? Any problems? How was their communication/customer service? Do you get to talk to a real lawyer ever?

All business owners need a way to manage and monitor all of their customers’ credit reports.  There is software available that can be purchased and installed to maintain current credit reports.  This software allows companies to monitor collection accounts, and view public records and inquiries.  The software also allows users to mark items that are in dispute or are being deleted or repaired.  The credit repair business software makes life so much easier for businesses because reams of paperwork are eliminated and there is no longer any need for manual updates.   Everything regarding a customer’s credit is centralized in one convenient online location.  This software also stores each customer’s credit report obtained from the three major credit reporting bureaus.  Dispute letters can be quickly generated from the imbedded credit report.  Data included on the credit reports is safe and secure within the software.

Most credit repair software has each customer’s credit report in an easy to read format which is sometimes color-coded to distinguish repaired, deleted or negated items.  All historical data regarding disputes is stored and easily accessed.  The data includes which item was disputed, who it was disputed with and a thorough explanation of the findings.  The software is set up so that inputting credit report information such as names, social security numbers, collections, public records and inquiries is quick and efficient.   Some of this software contains specialized features such as a built in clock that automatically calculates the amount of time that has passed since the last activity was performed on the account.  This feature makes it possible to enter only information regarding disputes that is within statue of limitations guidelines.   If outside the guidelines, the software will prompt you to send a specialized statue of limitations letter.

Credit repair business software is a must for large and small business because of the convenience it offers and the efficiency it provides.  Its online centralization of records capabilities makes it no longer necessary for reams of paper to take up valuable space in a busy office.  All customer data is safe and secure and can only be accessed by authorized persons.  It’s easy to manage all of the reports so that statistical data such as dispute successes can be accurately measured and reported.    And, it is easy to identify the important elements (such as repaired and deleted items) of a customer’s credit report.

Your credit may be in shambles and you are at a complete loss as to what to do to fix it – Fast!  It is easy to learn how to repair credit without really putting a lot of effort into it.  The first thing to remember is:  You don’t need a credit repair company to do it for you.  You are perfectly capable of taking matters into your own hands and figuring out a way to solve your credit problems quite easily.  There are so-called professionals out there who make all kinds of promises to you about erasing bad credit and they make it sound like it is something you need help doing.  But, you absolutely can do it yourself and you will save lots of money and time in the process.

The very first thing you will want to do is to get a copy of your credit report.  By reviewing it, you will be able to see any errors or discrepancies.  These reports can be requested from one of the three credit reporting bureaus available in the United States.  They are either free or sometimes the credit bureau will charge a minimal fee shipping and handling.  When you receive your reports, look to see if there is anything that can be repaired such as incorrect information (such as accounts that are not yours and incorrectly reported late payments),  accounts that are late or sent for collection, and maxed out accounts that are over the available credit limit.  If you find errors on your report, you have the right to dispute them.  Follow the instructions included with your credit report to report any erroneous information.  You can also compose your own letter regarding your concerns and send it directly to the credit reporting agency.

In order to improve your credit score, take a close look at any accounts that are past due or maxed out.  These are the items that you need to take care of immediately in order to begin restoring your credit rating.  It looks much better on your credit report if all your past due accounts are current or that you are in the process of paying them.  Find all credit card accounts that are maxed out and bring them below the credit limit.  Then try hard to keep getting the unpaid balance lower and lower until it’s completely paid off.  It is quite simple to learn how to repair credit if you have a strong desire to get back on track again and become a qualified borrower.

You may have bad credit and are looking for a way to get it fixed.  It is very tempting to use a credit repair company to solve your financial woes but you absolutely need to be very careful if this is the path you choose.  You don’t need one of these companies to rebuild your credit rating and they often are only in the business to make large amounts of money off of you, the desperate consumer.  It is easy to take care of the problem yourself without taking a chance on fraud or illegal activities and without paying a huge fee.

Credit repair services claim that they can magically erase your bad credit.  This is not true because the only way for this to happen is to determine that the credit information is inaccurate.  And, you can easily get incorrect information erased from you record on your own by simply sending a dispute letter to the credit reporting agency.  They are obliged to investigate your claim and respond within 30 days to your letter.  You do not need a credit repair service to do this for you and it will only cost you a little bit of your time and a postage stamp.  These companies claim that they can even get rid of accurate information on your credit report.  This is untrue.  Legitimate credit information cannot legally be removed from your report.

In order to obtain good credit and keep it without using a credit repair company, you should request a credit report from one of the following:  Equifax, Experian or Trans Union.  Be prepared to pay a small fee but it is free if you have been denied credit for any reason during the past 60 days.  Another way to get a free report is to be unemployed in any 12 month period and your plans are to apply for a job in the next 60 days.  You can also get a free report if you are on welfare or you believe your report contains inaccurate or fraudulent information.  Your request for a report must be in writing and contain your name, birth date, social security number and where you have lived during the past 5 years.

As an American consumer, you probably have lots of debt and may even have gotten behind on some of your payments.  If so, your credit score is probably not so good and you’re wondering if some of the credit repair services you have read about are legitimate.  You’re not alone and there are some important things you need to know before even considering using one of these services.   Many of these companies claim that they can remove bankruptcies and liens from your credit history forever and that they have means to erase all of your bad credit reports on file.  Be very, very cautious and don’t fall for one of these schemes.  There is no way that your bad credit will go away on its own other than you applying a conscious effort to improve it.

Most credit repair companies charge a fee for “cleaning up” your credit history and make idle promises to get you approved for a home mortgage, car loan and other purchases that you have been unable to make.  These companies take your money for a job that they legally cannot do.  They absolutely cannot improve your credit rating in the ways that they advertise.  They want their fees “up front”, even before they have performed any services for you.  They don’t help you at all in finding ways to help yourself and your rights as their customer is not fully explained.  They encourage you not to contact any of the three major credit reporting companies in the United States.  Some of these companies even go so far as to recommend that you quit using your social security card and apply for an Employer Identification Number in an effort to come up with a new credit identity.  Don’t fall for any of these gimmicks and idle promises because the chances are that these credit “services” are there for one thing only.  They want to get your money and not deliver on their promised services.

Be extremely careful if you choose to use a credit repair service to solve your continuing credit problems.  They may encourage you to do things illegally and even commit fraud.  If you follow their advice, you could very well end up in deep legal trouble.  Do not give untrue information on a loan or credit application, do not misrepresent your social security number and absolutely do not try to get an Employer Identification Number from the IRS unless you have a legitimate right to do so. All of these things are federal crimes.
